Senior Water Resource Scientist
Location: Riverview, FL

Cardno is seeking a Senior Water Resource Scientist, to be located in our Tampa, FL office. The successful candidate will provide project management and technical leadership for a diverse and interesting array of projects related to surface and groundwater
studies in central Florida and throughout the southeast region.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
> Senior-level project and staff management
> Oversight of technical reports and study design; and, coordination with Cardno’s regional planners, scientists, and engineers.
> Assist with Business Development activities with existing and prospective clients, which includes but is not limited to: private sector entities, municipalities, state and federal resource agencies, and energy providers
> M.S. degree in an environmental discipline.
> A minimum of ten years of relevant experience (can include graduate research)
> Working knowledge of federal and state regulations, including but not limited to Clean Water Act, NEPA, Florida’s Impaired Waters Rule, ERP.
> Working experience in planning and implementation of water resource studies.
> Proven record of accomplishment with developing new clients and acquiring contracts.
> Professional demeanor and strong interpersonal skills.
> Excellent oral and written communication skills.
> Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
> Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects in an effective and timely manner.
> Ability to work independently and in a collaborative, multidisciplinary team setting.
> Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship.
> Prior Consulting experience
> Competence with statistical techniques and software (e.g., R Program)
> Knowledge of water supply, stormwater, and water quality improvement and planning projects
> Knowledge of stream geomorphology assessment and stream restoration and stabilization
> Familiarity with hydrodynamic modeling programs
> Participation at regional professional society meetings (e.g., AWRA, FAWQC)
