Senior Energy Project Engineer

My client is an established, industry-leading, energy engineering, commissioning, and facility operations and maintenance firm based in San Francisco, with offices in Irvine, Los Angeles, Sacramento, San Diego, Seattle and Phoenix.
They are currently seeking a highly motivated Energy Project Engineer for a full-time position in our San Francisco office to support our Energy Services business line.
General: Work with team members on projects to support the growth of the company and implementation of projects. Work effectively and efficiently in performing tasks. Communicate verbally and in written form clearly and concisely internally and externally. Represent client in a professional manner internally and externally, and achieve a high level of customer satisfaction for all work performed.
Project Lead: Perform as the project lead for assigned projects, managing budget, resources, schedules, quality of work and deliverables. Manage supporting engineers to deliver specific tasks. Manage the customer and external project teams, communicating expectations and progress clearly. Lead client meetings and maintain a positive rapport with the project team.
Project Support: Participate as an active team member on other team projects to provide technical support and expertise, and to mentor others including review of other team member’s reports.
Continuous Improvement: Participate and lead efforts to improve processes, systems, and standards in the company.
Survey, evaluate, and assess customer facility automation, metering, HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing, lighting, electrical, envelope, and life safety systems and equipment, and fully understand such systems as they relate to facility function, automated sequences of operation, operating schedule, utility arrangement, and operations and maintenance practices
Identify/recommend cost effective facility conservation, efficiency & operational improvement measures
Perform research, field testing, cost estimating, and calculations to substantiate recommendations
Plan and perform retrocommissioning test procedures
Assess project implementation feasibility
Develop project performance criteria, specifications, concept designs, sequences of operation, and scopes of work
Install loggers and interface with automation systems to obtain/process/analyze trend data
Experience and Qualifications:
Required - Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution with major course work in mechanical engineering
Required - 6 - 10 years of experience in energy efficiency related projects
Preferred - Licensed Professional Engineering (PE) - Mechanical
Preferred - experience with renewable energy systems; e.g., photovoltaic systems
Required - proficient in industry standard office software (Word, Excel, etc)
